Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is an all-natural scientific approach to keeping your whole body healthy. By keeping your spine in proper alignment it helps relieve pressure on nerves that pass through your spinal column. With proper nerve flow to each organ of your body it is able to function to its full capacity. Without proper conduction from these nerves, the organs can begin to malfunction, which will appear in many different ways.

Dr. Mooney has been trained to examine and evaluate these symptoms to help establish the cause of the problem and what can be done to help relieve it. In many cases, the first symptom that the patient notices is pain. However, this is an indication that the problem has been developing over time.

Much like taking care of your teeth, it is important to maintain a healthy spine, before you notice a problem. Dr. Mooney can help teach you ways of taking care of your spine on a daily basis with proper nutrition, exercise,  and instruction in the proper ways to lift, bend, sit, and even sleep.

The first step is to have a consultation with Dr. Mooney. This will give you an opportunity to meet your doctor and get your questions answered prior to committing to any treatment. This will also allow Dr. Mooney to ask questions and determine if your concerns should be addressed by chiropractic or by another medical profession.

After the consultation, Dr. Mooney will conduct a health history and physical examination, with orthopedic and neurological testing. This will give him information that he needs to detect which parts of the spine may be malfunctioning.

With your informed consent, Dr. Mooney will then begin treatment to the effected segments of the spine, and the surrounding muscles, tissues, and ligaments.

By applying pressure and motion to the spine with his hands, Dr. Mooney will try to move  specific spinal segments. This is known as a chiropractic adjustment. This procedure has been scientifically proven to be safe and effective. This usually does not cause any discomfort.

Depending on your condition, Dr. Mooney may also use the aid of physiotherapy, such as ice, heat, electric stimulation, ultrasound, and/or massage. This therapy helps relax the muscles that surround the spine, which can help you feel more comfortable.
